JAMIE BOOT IS AN INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER and AWARD WINNING WRITER that hails from Long Island, New York. He earned his bachelor's degree in Cinema and Cultural Studies from Stony Brook University in 2002. After much soul searching he joined the United States Army in 2004 where he served with distinction in both Iraq and Afghanistan. After ten years of service, Jamie decided to continue his education with courses at the Digital Film Academy. His directorial debut "Wazir" was selected to appear at the Long Island Film Festival and U.K International Veteran's Film festival where it won Best Screenplay. Jamie also wrote the short film "Veteran's Day" which is now a Semi-Finalist at the Reel East Film Festival. Today he continues to make, write, edit, and produce short films that highlight the issues of PTSD and the lingering effects of war.
